Yahoo+Microsoft=Britney Spears

So I was listening to No Agenda podcast the other day where John and Adam suggested that having “Yahoo+Microsoft=Britney Spears ?” as a title would yield more page hits.
I like listening to N.A whenever I’m on the bus or doing something boring, they always manage to talk about something interesting or entertaining.

Midsummer Eve was nice, spent it with a friend and a couple of his friends which means that I got to meet lots of new people. That’s good. We had a bbq and played a few games like “have you ever” and the like.

At the moment I’m trying out a new Espresso blend from a micro roastery here in Sweden, and the roastery is called “da Matteo Torrefazione”. The blend is called “Midsomer Murders” and it’s a nice blend I belive, though my first shots were pulled like 1 or 2 days after roasting. I’m going to pull another shot tomorrow and see if I can find any different taste notes. My “pal” isn’t really that developed, but I want to try and see what I can taste :)

Anyways, time to sign off and go to bed.

DB2 to go open source.

Rumours has it that IBM might let DB2 go open source. I wonder what might come out of that? Will it replace Postgres or MySQL? Will it even be a competitor? Who knows… But probably there will be more structure in the code and any spagetti code will be removed.

Tried a new café today. It’s a combo of a café and a fitness center, good that people are thinking outside the box. There were pamplets about Aloevera on the coffeetable. I guess Aloevera is the snake oil of the 21st century.

Anyhow, it’s getting late over here and I need to pack a bag. Going for a trip and celebrate Midsummer Eve, yay! Lots and lots of beer, let it flow! ;)

Take care!

Happy Firefox day!

So, today is the day. When they release FF3 into the wildernes.
Myself being an Ubuntu user I have already tried out FF3b5 for quite some time now, and I like it. It has happen on a few occasion that it hangs, but I belive it has to do with Flash and not the browser

HPC cluster in Umeå, Sweden.

That’s all for now.

Visiting the archipelago of Gothenburg, Sweden

Me and a friend went out on a ferry trip to an island called “Vrångö” in Gothenburgs archipelago. Please watch my clip from the trip over at my qik page. The island was very nice and I liked it there, would even consider moving there or have a summer house on that island. I guess it’s all a question of money.
We decided to stop by an indian restaurant called Mahariani or something like that. Amzaing indian food was served there, however :)

Welcome!

Hi,

this is my first post on my new page. I will use this page/blog to track my life.
I will probably write about anything, but my main interests are

  • Good beverages, where coffee is on the top of my list
  • Good food, right now I’m into smoked fish
  • There will also be influences of computers and HPC.

That’s all for now, take care!
